Up to the age of 18, to gain experience behind the wheel, the pupil must follow an accompanied driving course which lasts between 1 and 3 years. He must have driven 3,000 km minimum accompanied. The speed is limited: - to 110 km / h on sections of motorways where the speed is limited to 130 km / h, - to 100 km / h on other sections of motorways and roads with two carriageways separated by a central reservation - at 80 km / h on other roads, - at 50 km / h in built-up areas. Traffic is prohibited in foreign territory.
3 educational meetings are compulsory: - the first with the guide and the monitor lasting at least 2 hours, - the second, after 6 or 8 months of accompanied driving and around 1000 km traveled, - the third, when the student has traveled at least 3,000 km. At the end of his training, the candidate must take the practical tests including a 20-minute course in circulation. The results of the evaluations carried out are transcribed in a learning booklet which is given to him by the driving school. When the candidate obtains the driving license, the driving school issues him a certificate of end of accompanied driving. This certificate must be given to the insurer in order to obtain discounts on the additional young driver premium.
